Question 1

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Create a free educator account, set up your profile, then add your lessons. Our short first-lesson guide walks you through it step by step.

Question 2

How do I invite my students?

Accepted Answer

Copy the lesson link from SAMii and send it to the family from your own email or phone. They enrol, add their payment method and the lesson is confirmed — no forms or invoices from you.

Question 3

What's the best way to try SAMii?

Accepted Answer

Start small. Invite one or two students first — ideally families who have outstanding invoices with you. Once you see payments arrive on their own, move the rest of your students across.

Question 4

When do I get paid?

Accepted Answer

Parents pay per lesson automatically, and you receive weekly payouts. No invoicing, no chasing and no term billing.

Question 5

What does SAMii cost?

Accepted Answer

Signing up is free. Lessons managed and paid through SAMii attract one simple 3.3% SAMii Service Fee (including GST). You choose whether to absorb it, pass it on to the parent, or split it. On a $50 lesson: absorb it and you receive $48.35; pass it on and the parent pays $51.65; split it and the parent pays $50.83 while you receive $49.18.

Question 6

Do parents pay a card surcharge?

Accepted Answer

No. The Service Fee is not based on the card used and there is no separate card surcharge — no merchant fee is payable by your parents. SAMii takes care of it.

Question 7

What about public holidays, excursions and cancellations?

Accepted Answer

SAMii handles the hidden admin: public holidays, excursions, camps, pupil-free days, concerts, cancelled lessons and late-term changes. Families aren't charged for lessons you cancel, and lessons already paid for are credited towards a future lesson automatically.

Question 8

What happens if a parent's payment fails?

Accepted Answer

Every enrolment carries two lessons paid in advance, so lessons keep going while SAMii retries the payment every two days and keeps the family informed by email.

Question 9

Something isn't working, or I have an idea for SAMii

Accepted Answer

Tell SAMii Support in the chat on this page. If it can't sort it out straight away, it raises a ticket with a reference number (like SAM-1001) and our team replies by email.

Question 10

How do lesson payments work?

Accepted Answer

When you enrol, you'll pay for your upcoming lesson plus two lessons in advance. Lesson payments are securely processed 48 hours before each scheduled lesson using your nominated payment method. The two advance lessons act as a safety buffer should a payment ever fail, allowing lessons to continue while payment details are updated.

Question 11

Why are two lessons paid in advance?

Accepted Answer

The advance lesson balance helps avoid interruptions to your child's learning. If your card expires or a payment cannot be processed, your child can continue attending lessons while SAMii retries the payment. It provides peace of mind for both families and educators.

Question 12

How do I view my upcoming lessons?

Accepted Answer

Simply log in to your SAMii account. Your dashboard allows you to view upcoming lessons, payment status, lesson history and future scheduled lessons — everything is available whenever you need it.

Question 13

How do I cancel a lesson?

Accepted Answer

Lessons can be cancelled directly from your SAMii dashboard. The standard cancellation notice period is 48 hours, although your educator may have their own cancellation policy. If your plans change, cancelled lessons can also be reinstated before the lesson takes place.

Question 14

What happens during school holidays or public holidays?

Accepted Answer

Your educator manages their teaching calendar through SAMii. If they cancel lessons due to holidays or other planned breaks you'll receive a notification and you won't be charged for educator-cancelled lessons. If a lesson has already been paid for and is later cancelled by your educator, the payment is automatically credited towards a future lesson.

Question 15

What if we stop lessons?

Accepted Answer

Should you decide to finish lessons, your educator can end the enrolment through SAMii. Any unused lesson credits will automatically be refunded to your original payment method.

Question 16

What happens if my payment doesn't go through?

Accepted Answer

Occasionally cards expire or banks decline payments. If this happens, SAMii will automatically retry your payment every two days while keeping you informed by email. Your advance lesson balance allows lessons to continue while the issue is resolved.

Question 17

What if my advance lesson balance runs out?

Accepted Answer

If payment hasn't been resolved before both advance lessons have been used, your enrolment will temporarily become inactive. Both you and your educator will receive notifications explaining what to do next. Once your payment details have been updated, you can quickly reactivate your enrolment and continue your lessons under the existing schedule.

Question 18

How do I keep track of payments?

Accepted Answer

Every successful payment automatically generates an emailed receipt. Your SAMii account also provides a complete payment history, giving you full visibility of every lesson and payment.

Question 19

Is my payment information secure?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. SAMii uses Stripe, one of the world's leading online payment providers. Payments are processed using industry-leading encryption and PCI-compliant security standards. Your educator never has access to your credit card information.

Question 20

What is the SAMii Service Fee?

Accepted Answer

Lessons managed and paid through SAMii attract one simple 3.3% SAMii Service Fee. It covers the platform that runs your enrolment, lesson payments, receipts and ongoing improvements. It is not determined by the card you use, and SAMii does not add a separate card surcharge. Your educator chooses whether to absorb it, pass it on, or split it with you.

Question 21

How do I enrol?

Accepted Answer

Getting started is easy. Your educator sends you a secure enrolment link, you create your SAMii account, confirm your lesson details and add your preferred payment method. Once your first payment is complete, your lessons are confirmed and you're ready to begin.
